Homeopathy for Horses: Book Review by Angie Noll

Tineke Verkade, affectionately known as “the cow lady”, has worked tirelessly to promote the use of homeopathy on dairy farms, both prophylactically and as herd treatment. An increasing number of horse owners are also turning to homeopathy, making her “Homeopathy for Horses” a timely and invaluable resource.

The book is easy to follow and provides enough information without being excessive. The glossary, giving a simple explanation of animal disease jargon, such as ‘coccidiosis’ or ‘hæmaturia’ is especially helpful.

Even though the book doesn’t replace professional homeopathic or veterinary services, as Tineke points out several times throughout the book, it should go a long way toward introducing the horse owner to the wonders of homeopathy. It’s a book that should be on every horse owner’s shelf.
