Homeopathy is a natural, holistic, complimentary or alternative therapy for men, women and children.
Homeopathy may look like a herbal therapy because homeopathic remedies can be made from herbs, however, the remedies are also made from many other substances. Homeopathy may also be confused with naturopathy, but as with herbal therapy, they are actually two completely different therapeutic systems with very different methods of prescribing. Homeopathy treats the individual person and their unique expression of symptoms. To be effective, the remedy chosen must match the person’s symptoms and general state.
Symptoms can be visible or unseen, internal or external, physical, mental or emotional; all of these can be addressed using a therapeutic agent (homeopathic remedy) which has been known to cause these same symptoms. For example the onion, which we all know can cause runny nose and sore and watery eyes, when made into a homeopathic remedy, (called Allium cepa), may be used to relieve hay fever and cold symptoms which have runny nose and sore, watery eyes.
