Optimism versus realism

Vol. 21 No. 3 June 2001

Already a couple of people have told me my last editorial was unreasonably gloomy; things are looking up, they said.

Well, that’s their opinion and I have mine, one I share with Will Klunker (see his article, page 15, April Homœopathica) – and he wrote in 1977!

To quote Dr Klunker, the people who turn from considering “the details of a complete materia medica and its repertory . . . are pleased to denounce the Hahnemannian method as old-fashioned, puristic, intolerant, arrogant, and usurping of the truth” are ignorant “of the essential difference between scientific homœopathy and guesswork.”

It is sad that many of those who call themselves forward-looking are in fact very short-sighted.
